Flag Football Recap: Village Christian Crusaders vs. Chaminade Eagles
Village Christian extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-5. They had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Chaminade Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-6 last Tuesday.
As for Chaminade, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.4 points over those games.
Chaminade found their leader in sophomore Lauren Jesic, who threw for 184 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of her passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Jesic is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Kaitlyn Nelson was Jesic's top target, picking up 28 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 40 yards.
Village Christian has already played their next game, a 33-0 defeat against Burroughs on the 6th. Chaminade does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
