Basketball Recap: Essense Key and Amanda Harris Secure Win for Loachapoka

Loachapoka won the last time they faced LaFayette and things went their way on Saturday too. The Loachapoka Indians put the hurt on the LaFayette Bulldogs with a sharp 49-25 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Leading Loachapoka to victory were Amanda Harris and Essense Key. Harris went 5 for 12 en route to 14 points and five boards, while Key dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Key is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Drummond, who posted four points and five steals.

Loachapoka has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for LaFayette, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19.

Loachapoka will be playing at home against Reeltown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LaFayette has already played their next match (against Handley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
