Basketball Recap: Mifflinburg Wildcats vs. Shamokin Area Indians
Mifflinburg lost against Shamokin Area back in March of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mifflinburg Wildcats lost to the Shamokin Area Indians on the road by a 76-61 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (60), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.
Case Litchy was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 11 on his way to 22 points for Shamokin Area. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenssyn Shuey, who went 5 of 6 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.
Mifflinburg dropped their record down to 7-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Shamokin Area, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mifflinburg Wildcats challenge the Bloomsburg Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shamokin Area, they will host Midd-West at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
