Waverly came out on top against Owego Free Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Wolverines took their contest against the River Hawks 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-4 on Monday.

The win made it two in a row for Waverly and bumps their season record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Owego Free Academy, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Looking ahead, Waverly will welcome Oneonta at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolverines 3.2, the Yellowjackets 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Owego Free Academy will be paying especially close attention to Waverly's game: after Waverly faces off against Oneonta, they'll take on Owego Free Academy again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
