Basketball Recap: Pendleton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Liberty last Tuesday, Pendleton came back down to earth. The Pendleton Bulldogs took a blow against the Walhalla Razorbacks on Tuesday, falling 76-37. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Razorbacks: they've now lost six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walhalla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gianna Ortiz-Viera, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Ortiz-Viera a new career-high in blocks (seven). Miley White was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.

Pendleton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Walhalla, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Pendleton will take on West-Oak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West-Oak is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season. As for Walhalla, they will face off against Tallulah Falls at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
