Basketball Recap: Grosse Pointe North Triumphs

Grosse Pointe North won the last time they faced Utica and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Grosse Pointe North Norsemen came out on top against the Utica Chieftains by a score of 55-43.

Utica's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Sulik, who posted nine points. Sulik is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Hayden Hirmiz was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Grosse Pointe North now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Utica, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Grosse Pointe North will challenge Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Roseville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Grosse Pointe North surely won't give up without a fight. As for Utica, they will take on Utica Ford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Utica Ford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Utica likes a good challenge.
