Recap: Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes vs. Skyline Raiders
The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Skyline at home to the tune of 84-41. Duncanville is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Duncanville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Clayton led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds. Laila Coleman was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Skyline lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Naiya Carney, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Carney hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Ke'liyah L anderson, who scored eight points.
Duncanville's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Skyline, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Duncanville will take on Mansfield Legacy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Legacy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Duncanville is ranked first). As for Skyline, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Mansfield at 6:00 p.m. Mansfield is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
