Basketball Recap: Cire Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bell over E.L. Haynes

Bell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 62-36 to E.L. Haynes. That's two games in a row now that the Griffins have lost by exactly 26 points.

Several Griffins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cire Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 boards. The dominant performance also gave Wilson a new career-high in blocks (four). Jakari Graham was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven assists and six boards.

Even though they lost, Bell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

E.L. Haynes was led to victory by Damien Smith and Elyan Beatriz. Smith posted 15 points, while Beatriz put up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Creamer, who had six points.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for E.L. Haynes, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-7.

Bell will take on Jackson-Reed at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for E.L. Haynes, they will head out on the road to face off against Idea at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
