Recap: Purchase Line Red Dragons vs. Marion Center Stingers
The Purchase Line Red Dragons suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Marion Center, falling 59-30. Purchase Line's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it five in a row.
Purchase Line's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jakob Mountain, who scored six points along with six rebounds, and Jacob Kauffman who scored eight points.
Purchase Line struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
Marion Center got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Pack out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Risinger, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Purchase Line bumped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Marion Center, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.
Purchase Line will head out on the road to take on Harmony Area at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Harmony Area has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Marion Center, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Penns Manor at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th.
