League recap: Joshua Springs extends winning streak with victory over Excelsior Charter

Victory (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012

Joshua Springs extended the longest winning streak in Victory (8 Man) this week by beating Excelsior Charter, 52-33. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Lightning.

Desert Chapel took down Marywood-Palm Valley 64-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Joseph Leichtner and Jeff Bachman gave Joshua Springs a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Leichtner threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns, while Bachman ran for 116 yards. Leichtner also contributed to the rushing game with 79 yards on the ground.

Marshall Webb was the best wideout in the league this week as Desert Christian Academy fell to Desert Hot Springs. Webb racked up seven receptions for 84 yards. Felix Flores helped Desert Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 45 yards.

Desert Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Conquerors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunter Hurja has thrown for 579 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Webb has 22 catches for 414 yards. Nate Frahmen leads the league in rushing with 354 yards.

The Eagles led Victory (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on the Firebirds.
