Basketball Recap: Nick Madsen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead GV Christian over Virgin Valley

After flying high against Cristo Rey St. Viator last Wednesday, GV Christian came back down to earth. The Guardians fell 56-44 to the Virgin Valley Bulldogs on Monday. If the Guardians were looking for revenge after losing 66-48 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Guardians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nick Madsen, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 16 points and six boards. Wake Rolwing was another key player, putting up 13 points.

GV Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Virgin Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

GV Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-40 win against Pahrump Valley on the 10th. As for Virgin Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 79-43 victory against Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas on the 10th.
