Baseball Game Preview: LKY Saints vs. Highlands Latin Highlanders

The LKY Saints will challenge the Highlands Latin Highlanders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

LKY fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Grayson County on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Cougars, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Titus Combs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Warren Scyphers, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Highlands Latin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Eminence, falling 13-2.

Highlands Latin's record now sits at 0-2. As for LKY, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

LKY might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Highlands Latin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can LKY avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
