Recap: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Tri-Central Trojans
After flying high against the Attica Red Ramblers last Saturday, the Clinton Central Bulldogs came back down to earth. Clinton Central took a serious blow against Tri-Central on Friday, falling 82-47. While losing is never fun, Clinton Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Tri-Central is ranked 139th).
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Davison, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Lane Davis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Clinton Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tri-Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Ramseyer, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Ramseyer scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stetson Newcom, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Clinton Central's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Tri-Central, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Clinton Central will be home for the holidays to greet North Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Madison-Grant at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Madison-Grant is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.2 points per game.
