Basketball Recap: New Waverly Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Waverly can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Kountze Lions and fell 78-34. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 519th, while the Lions are ranked 154th).

New Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 24-8. As for Kountze, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-3.

New Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kountze, they have already played their next game, a 79-41 victory against Keene on the 18th.
