Softball Recap: Perris Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last five matches, Perris finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 29-2 to the Moreno Valley Vikings. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Anahi Morales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kimberly Santoyo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Perris dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Moreno Valley, their record is now 4-6.

Looking ahead, Perris will head out to challenge United Christian Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Moreno Valley, they will welcome Rancho Verde at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
