Softball Recap: Portsmouth West Senators vs. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes
Portsmouth West barely beat Nelsonville-York the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Senators blew past the Buckeyes 16-2 on Thursday. That looming 16-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Senators yet this season.
Layla Kamer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
