Baseball Recap: Sedgwick County Comes Up Short

Sedgwick County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Wiggins Tigers, falling 15-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Friday.

Tate Renquist made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Sedgwick County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Wiggins, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, Sedgwick County will head out to take on Haxtun at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fightin' Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Wiggins, they will welcome Byers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
