Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Mile High Academy

Mile High Academy had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Addy Dodds did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Mile High Academy Mustangs pulled ahead with a 41-40 photo finish over the Weldon Valley Warriors thanks in part to Dodds, who almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 11 boards, and nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mile High Academy's points.

Delanie Prowant was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last three times she's played.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Annie Onufrak, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Haylee Nelson, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Mile High Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Weldon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Mile High Academy will challenge St. John Paul the Great at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weldon Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-39 victory against North Park on the 10th.
