Softball Recap: Newark Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Newark and Wayne have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Reds fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 10-9. The defeat continues a trend for the Reds in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Wayne, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Newark has already played their next contest, a 14-2 defeat against Pittsford on the 23rd. As for Wayne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-0 loss against Palmyra-Macedon on the 23rd.
