Basketball Recap: Saint Viator Triumphs

Saint Viator hasn't had much luck at home recently (they'd lost three straight) but thanks in part to Ava Garcia that streak is no more. The Saint Viator Lions really took it to the Payton College Prep Grizzlies for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-24 victory thanks in part to Garcia, who went 7 of 13 en route to 20 points and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Saint Viator's points.

Serafina Salituro also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season. What's more, she also racked up two rebounds, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Saint Viator's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Payton College Prep, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Saint Viator will take on Northside at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Payton College Prep, they will face off against Crane Medical at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
