Baseball Game Preview: Uintah Utes vs. Timpanogos Timberwolves

The Uintah Utes will venture away from home to square off against the Timpanogos Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Uintah is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Provo, falling 11-5.

Meanwhile, Timpanogos faced American Fork in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Timpanogos lost 8-2 to American Fork. The defeat continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their meetings with the Cavemen: they've now lost five in a row.

Timpanogos saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Sotelo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kaden Hatch also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Uintah's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Timpanogos, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Uintah suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Timpanogos in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Uintah avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
