Softball Game Preview: Whiteland Warriors vs. Indian Creek Braves

Whiteland has won five straight games at home, while Indian Creek has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Warriors will welcome the Braves at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Whiteland's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Martinsville 1-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Indian Creek faced West Vigo in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Braves walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Vikings.

Not much got past Delaney Jones, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep West Vigo off the board. Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kristen Soots was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Indian Creek's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Whiteland, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Whiteland might still be hurting after the 11-5 defeat they got from Indian Creek in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
