Baseball Game Preview: St. Rita Mustangs vs. Evergreen Park Mustangs

St. Rita will venture away from home to challenge Evergreen Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

St. Rita can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Monday. They came up short against Riverside-Brookfield, falling 15-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since May 6, 2024.

Jayden Rivera made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Clark, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Evergreen Park took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They came out on top against Morgan Park by a score of 10-6.

Jack Rourke was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Rowan Smyth, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
