Baseball Recap: Boca Raton Gets the Win

While Boca Raton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Bobcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dylan Zidar was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zidar was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Zidar wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Dennison, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Boca Raton and bumps their season record up to 6-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-6 Santaluces and 1-7 Somerset Academy - Canyons. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Boca Raton will square off against Royal Palm Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they will take on Santaluces at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.29 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
