Baseball Recap: Jefferson Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Manual, Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Middle Park Panthers 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jaime Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, AJ Alvarado was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Gabe Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jefferson's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-15. As for Middle Park, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Jefferson by a score of 15-2 later that day.
