Mt. Lebanon and Canon-McMillan are an even 4-4-2 against one another since October of 2020, but likely not for long. The Blue Devils will head out to square off against the Big Macs at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mt. Lebanon is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Upper St. Clair on Tuesday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mt. Lebanon came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Upper St. Clair are ranked 283rd).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Canon-McMillan's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to Peters Township.

Canon-McMillan's goal came courtesy of Cole Debbis, who's now up to four this season.

Mt. Lebanon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-2. As for Canon-McMillan, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Mt. Lebanon came out on top in a nail-biter against Canon-McMillan when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
