Recap: Buckeye Hawks vs. Youngker Roughriders
The Buckeye Hawks waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 56-26 win over Youngker. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Buckeye has posted against Youngker since February 11, 2020.
Leading Buckeye to victory were Amayah Leyva and Tia Chapman. Leyva scored 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while Chapman scored 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Chapman hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Isabel Ramirez, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Buckeye has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Youngker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Buckeye will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Estrella Foothills at 1:00 p.m. Estrella Foothills is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Youngker, they will head out on the road to challenge Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
