Basketball Recap: Somerset Academy Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

The third road game was the charm for Somerset Academy, as they earned their first road win of the season. They managed a 44-38 victory over the Eastside Eagles on Saturday. The 44-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Somerset Academy had a senior duo take command as Jahlon Blain went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and three steals and Christian Smith posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coreem Hollingshead, who had six points.

Somerset Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Eastside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Somerset Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Mountain Brook at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Brook will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Somerset Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastside, they are taking a road trip to challenge Indian Hill at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
