Basketball Recap: Clark Takes a Loss

Clark entered their contest against United on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Clark Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the United Longhorns. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Longhorns are ranked 362nd).

Clark's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for United, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clark will be home for the holidays to greet LEE at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Clark is facing LEE at the right time seeing as LEE is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for United, they will be playing at home against Del Rio at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. United has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
