Teague made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Westwood, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Mario Cuevas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Cuevas was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kade Kormos was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Blake Maggard, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Teague's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Westwood, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Teague is set to take on their familiar foe Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Westwood will face off against rival Mexia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
