Baseball Game Preview: Afton Eagles vs. Ketchum Warriors

Afton is 1-9 against Ketchum since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Afton Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Ketchum Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, everything went Afton's way against Oaks-Mission as Afton made off with a 9-1 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Zander Mace and Aiden Victor were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Mace pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Victor struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. At bat, Mace scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Victor scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Robinson, who scored two runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Wyrick, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ketchum put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Miami, sneaking past 5-3. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Wardogs on their field since April 2, 2022.

Afton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Ketchum in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Afton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
