Baseball Game Preview: Tivy Antlers vs. Boerne-Champion Chargers

The Tivy Antlers will square off against the Boerne-Champion Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tivy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Smithson Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Antlers fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Antlers in their meetings with the Rangers: they've now lost six in a row.

Sam Barber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tivy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Guy Flores, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Boerne-Champion waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Thunderbirds with a sharp 14-1 victory. Considering the Chargers have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Boerne-Champion pushed their record up to 21-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Tivy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-17.

Tivy skirted past Boerne-Champion 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Antlers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
