Softball Recap: Darlington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wilson last Tuesday, Darlington came back down to earth. Darlington came up short against the West Florence Knights on Wednesday, falling 14-3. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost five in a row.

Carly Gainey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Darlington suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-5. As for West Florence, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Darlington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-0 victory against Lower Richland on the 28th. As for West Florence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Sumter on the 27th.
