Soccer Game Preview: West Harrison vs. Petal

The West Harrison Hurricanes will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Petal Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Tuesday, West Harrison needed a bit of extra time to put away George County. They never let the Rebels onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Hurricanes were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Petal faced Northwest Rankin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Petal lost 7-0 to Northwest Rankin. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Petal's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for West Harrison, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
