Volleyball Recap: Avon Beats Alcester-Hudson for Their Third Straight Victory

Avon waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Alcester-Hudson Cubs by a score of 3-1. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cubs, too.

Avon was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 22-25, 25-14, 25-14.

Among those leading the charge was Lexi Vanderlei, who had 16 digs. Bree Vanderlei also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Avon was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Avon now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Alcester-Hudson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avon will square off against Wagner at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alcester-Hudson, they will host West Sioux at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
