Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University Prep). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-22 victory over the Central Valley Falcons. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

University Prep found their leader in freshman Talis Payne, who threw for 264 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 82 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. The Panthers' leading receiver Jackson Kersten was Payne's top target yet again, picking up 88 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 41 yards.

University Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 50.7 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 183.3.

Loss or not, Central Valley got some senior leadership from Aj Johnson and Drason Recio. Johnson rushed for 201 yards and one TD, while Recio picked up 115 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 115 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Recio.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Central Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
