Softball Recap: Federal Way Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

While Federal Way's win against Jefferson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Raiders 13-12. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-12 back in April.

Eva Adriano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched eight innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off nine hits. Adriano was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Federal Way got a massive performance out of Meeghan Meagher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two stolen bases gave Meagher a new career-high. Sosephina Sailiai was another key player, going 5-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Federal Way kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. They got six more hits than Jefferson's also-impressive total of 15.

Federal Way's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Jefferson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Federal Way is set to take on their familiar foe Auburn Mountainview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Jefferson will challenge rival Decatur at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
