Basketball Game Preview: Creekside Knights vs. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets

The Creekside Knights will venture away from home to face off against the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekside is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Last Friday, Creekside got the win against Bartram Trail by a conclusive 57-33.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine hadn't done well against Nease recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. St. Augustine narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Nease 46-44. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but the Yellow Jackets were the better team in the second half.

Creekside's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for St. Augustine, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Creekside came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Augustine in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 39-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Creekside since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
