Baseball Game Preview: Williston-Elko Blue Devils vs. Calhoun County Saints

The Williston-Elko Blue Devils will challenge the Calhoun County Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Williston-Elko's offense. They came up short against Barnwell on Thursday, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Calhoun County also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 11-0 to Horse Creek Academy on Friday. The Saints have struggled against the Stallions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Calhoun County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Glover, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Williston-Elko and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Calhoun County, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Williston-Elko took their victory against Calhoun County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Does Williston-Elko have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calhoun County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
