Baseball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Takes a Loss

Archbishop Carroll extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 5-13. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Neumann-Goretti Saints. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Saints when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jack Stadnicki was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Carroll saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Gilroy, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Neumann-Goretti, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

On Neumann-Goretti's side, Steven Vanore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

Archbishop Carroll didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-12 victory against Lansdale Catholic on the 5th. As for Neumann-Goretti, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-4 win against Father Judge on the 5th.
