West Mesquite proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past the Adams Cougars 2-1. Winning may never get old, but West Mesquite sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mario Dominguez and Anthony Costilla scored both of West Mesquite's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 30 goals.

West Mesquite's victory bumped their record up to 13-0-4. As for Adams, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 8-9 record.

Looking ahead, West Mesquite is taking a road trip to square off against Wilson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Adams, they will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against Spruce at 11:30 a.m. Adams will be up against Spruce's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.64 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
