Basketball Preview: Robinson Knights vs. Dunedin Falcons
The Robinson Knights will square off against the Dunedin Falcons at TBD on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Robinson and 35 for the Falcons dating back to last season.
Robinson pushed their score all the way to 70 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hillsborough. Robinson has struggled against the Terriers recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their defeat, Robinson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. LaJesse Harrold, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrold has scored all season. Jaden Behel was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
While Dunedin couldn't quite beat the Patriots on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 61-point loss they were dealt on Monday. Dunedin fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 51-48.
Robinson has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Dunedin, they dropped their record down to 0-20 with that loss, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Robinson strolled past the Falcons when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 72-53. Will Robinson repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
