Football Recap: St. Augustine Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

St. Augustine kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost to the La Costa Canyon Mavericks on the road by a 22-7 margin. The Saints were not able to make up for their loss to the Mavericks from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Vince Smith threw for 59 yards on eight of 15 attempts. On the ground, Nigel Thompson rushed for 47 yards.

St. Augustine will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Del Norte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Costa Canyon, they are taking a road trip to challenge Mount Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
