Football Recap: Homestead Falls Short of Chiles in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Homestead can now relate to. They fell 18-7 to the Chiles Timberwolves on Thursday. Despite 65 more yards than the Timberwolves, the Broncos couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Homestead still got an impressive performance from Caitylyn Gibson, who picked up 134 receiving yards and one TD.

It was another big night for Kendall Sadberry, who rushed for 60 yards and one score, and also threw for 109 yards and one touchdown for Chiles. Sadberry didn't just play on offense: she also made three total tackles and defended one pass.

Homestead's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Chiles, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chiles, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-2 loss against Seminole Ridge on the 10th.
