Basketball Game Preview: Ontario Warriors vs. Highland Fighting Scots

The Ontario Warriors will face off against the Highland Fighting Scots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Ontario turned things around against Willard on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Crimson Flashes out 62-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Crimson Flashes since January 29, 2015.

Meanwhile, Highland entered their tilt with Crestview on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They secured a 54-50 W over the Cougars. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Fighting Scots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while the Cougars are ranked 134th).

The win got Highland back to even at 6-6. As for Ontario, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Ontario didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Highland in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win. Will Ontario repeat their success, or does Highland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
