Baseball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Cornerstone Christian who claimed the real prize. The Bison fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bison couldn't push the score so high this time.

Liberty saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Slater, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 22-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will take on Paloma Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bison surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will welcome Perris at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Crusaders' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
