Basketball Game Preview: Algonquin Regional Titans vs. St. John's Pioneers

Algonquin Regional hasn't had much luck against St. John recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Algonquin Regional Titans are taking a road trip to square off against the St. John's Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, the stars were shining brightly for Algonquin Regional in a 63-49 win over Marlborough. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. John's, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against North on Tuesday as St. John's made off with a 63-40 victory.

St. John's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Algonquin Regional, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Algonquin Regional suffered a grim 61-38 defeat to St. John's when the teams last played back in February. Can Algonquin Regional avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
