Basketball Recap: Christen Campbell Key Part of a Team Effort in Tigers Win

Klein Collins posted their closest win since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Klein Oak Panthers, sneaking past 40-37. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Panthers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 51-43 loss.

Klein Collins' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christen Campbell, who posted eight points along with 11 rebounds and eight steals. Campbell is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. A'Niyah Harmon was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Klein Oak's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clarah Obenofunde, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 boards. That's the most rebounds Obenofunde has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiana Vega, who scored seven points and 11 boards.

Klein Collins has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Klein Oak, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-12.

Klein Collins is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. As for Klein Oak, they will be playing at home against Tomball at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Klein Oak is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Tomball a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
