Softball Recap: Wellesley Raiders vs. Newton North Tigers
Wellesley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 11-6 to the Newton North Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.
Wellesley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Brown's first of the season.
Wellesley's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Newton North, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wellesley will venture away from home to take on Brookline at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newton North, they will head out to face off against Bishop Feehan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
