Baseball Recap: King William Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mathews

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King William). They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Mathews Blue Devils on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Jack Longest and Daniel Burton did most of the damage at the plate: Longest went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Burton went 1-for-3 with one home run and six RBI. Those three runs gave Longest a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Seal, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

King William now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mathews, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

King William wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-0 win against Middlesex on the 22nd. As for Mathews, they have also already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Charles City on the 22nd.
